Quick Friday tip for homeowners! I get asked a lot about what warning signs you might see that a water heater could be getting ready to go out. These pictures below offer a good idea about what might turn into a major leak sooner rather than later.  1. The first photo with the red circle on the copper water connection shows major rust occurring on the water inlet to the heater.  2. The first photo also shows how the exhaust vent is not correctly attached. When a gas water heater operates, it puts out exhaust similar to how your car's muffler does. It's important that the exhaust vent be connected snugly over the water heater so that the fumes travel safely up the vent to the outside instead of in the attic.  3. The second photo shows how part of the water heater appears to have rust coming from the water heater casing.  4. The last photo is of the pan underneath the water heater. The pan is very important because if the water heater leaks, the pan is supposed to carry the water to a pipe outside. From the photo, you can see how corroded and rusted the pan looks. If water gets inside this rusted out pan, there is a higher chance that the pan would leak on the ceiling instead of going down the drain to the backyard.  Hope this helps!

Happy *OFFICIAL* first day of Summer! If you're working outside, make sure to have plenty of cold water available and take plenty of breaks from the heat! My favorite thing about Summer is knowing that cooler weather is only about 4 months away 🙂

Our family is thankful to Texas Governor Greg Abbott for extending the activity of the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners to May 31, 2021 from the original expiration date of September 1st, 2019. In 2021, the Texas Legislature will be able to vote again on what happens to the plumbing trade in Texas.  A few possibilities may result in either...
    1) The current Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners remaining in effect for another set amount of years until it's time to be reviewed for it's efficiency again.
    2) The Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners would disband and transfer responsibility of plumbing to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations.
    3) No decision is made by May 31, 2021 which would see Texas abolish all plumbing licenses and enforcement from the State level. Local cities would be responsible for enforcement, permitting, and regulating all plumbing work, which would leave unincorporated areas like Spring/Klein without a way to see a plumbing company's qualifications.  https://www.contract...umbing-examiners

If you don't, you should have a fan with you. We started bringing a fan and it's a life changer.

Yaacov Prupis I had a big commercial 24" industrial fan I brought in that worked great, right up until it tipped over damaging the metal blades inside the cage.  I use an air mover now which helps, but doesn't cover as much of an area as the fan did. I'm looking into some body ice water recirculation vests to see if it would be a huge help! The greatest thing I use now is my Pelican cooler with iced down bottles of water to stay hydrated at least.

We had a customer last evening with a water heater that leaked through the ceiling. Thanks to some reorganizing we've made on our truck this year, we were able to replace their water heater on the same visit instead of having to wait for the supply house to reopen the next day!  The red carpets are really awesome, as the material blocks any water or sludge from the bottom of the heater from reaching the carpet. Just one of the ways we like to protect our customers homes!

Have you ever heard of the term "Jetting" a sewer line? It involves cleaning a drain or sewer with a highly pressurized stream of water. This customer had a severe grease blockage that a cable or rooter would not have been the most efficient tool for. A follow up camera inspection showed that the Jet machine was able to scrub the pipe clean and restore flow quickly!

  • Professional, timely, and excellent communication! My shower drain was clogging up frequently. James came out and was able to find the problem....nails! Apparently the builders allowed nails to go down the drain and did not take them out. He was able to remove them all and my drain has worked perfectly since. Will definitely use again!

  • James did a great job in diagnosing and fixing my garbage disposal. A definite A+ in reliability and honesty! I would definitely recommend his services.

  • Had the opportunity for James to work in my home on a couple of projects. I was upgrading my bathroom when the tile installer was unable to install the toilet. James came in and not only installed one but suggested I get a taller one with a more efficient water consumption. My shower head was old and stained he brought in a new shower head that is beautiful and completed my new look. He was quick courteous and professional. I can enjoy my bath area and can say to James, job well done!

  • Awesome guy and great service! He got us fixed under budget and on a Saturday. He was on time, knowledgeable, and professional. We definitely will use him in the future. If any one needs a great plumber give James a call.
